The Gwangju Biennale Foundation is delighted to present the general artistic director for the Gwangju Biennale 2006, Kim Hong-hee, an art critic and director of the Ssamzie Space. The sixth in its series, Biennale is scheduled to be held for 65 days from September 8 to November 11, 2006. The board of directors of Gwangju Biennale Foundation cited the reason for selecting Kim as her prominent presence at home and abroad in supporting and planning many experimental art exhibitions; based on the Biennale’s 10-year history, the board sees the significance of 2006 Biennale as the initial step into the unexplored arena of new artistic culture.
Furtherfield invites proposals for exploratory net art, digital art and web-based, creative projects to be featured on Furtherfield. We are especially interested in network related projects that explore new social contexts that transcends the digital, or offer a subjective voice that communicates beyond the medium. Prague Biennale Foundation is proud to present the second edition of the Prague Biennale, curated by Giancarlo Politi and Helena Kontova, following the enormous success of the first Biennale. Prague Biennale 2 will take place in a vast post-industrial space that has been specifically adapted for what will be the largest exhibition in Europe dedicated to today’s painting, demonstrating the crossing of styles, techniques, cultures and traditions in contemporary art. PRAGUE BIENNALE 2 will focus on two main themes: Expanded Painting – Painting and Around, and Acción Directa, art as political action.
The European graffiti festival “Meeting of Styles” arrives in Greece for the first time on May 13 to 14. The event takes place in Thessaloniki thanks to the inauguration of the Live2store company and the Carpe Diem non profit association.
