Alternative Film/Video is the festival of Yugoslav alternative film and video. The aim of the Festival is to document and define in theory the values and new creative possibilities in the fields of alternative film and video. All authors of alternative film and video are eligible to participate. The founder and organizer of the Festival is Academic Film Center in Students’ City Cultural Center.

Netmage 10

The Live-Media Floor is the main section of the Netmage festival program, an international platform to confront practices of generating and/or mixing images and sound of every type and format. A window on cinematic and inter-media aesthetics that change form year by year.

Like previous years we are looking for new video art works and short films, media installations, live audiovisual performances, network based projects… In addition, we are very glad to receive proposals from curators and producers/distributors for the non-competitive special screenings.

 

The FutureEverything Awards and FutureEverything

We are still reeling from the stunning success of Futuresonic 2009. Our award winning festival drew an attendance of 75,000, and featured a huge range of incredible artistic projects including many world-firsts. It is thrilling to be in the middle of a quantum leap, and such an incredible year has given us huge momentum leading into 2010.

 

MOMENTUM 2009

Punkt Ø proudly presents Favoured Nations, the biennial showcasing the work of artists with a background from, or a connection to the Nordic region. The exhibition features 31 artists and groups spread across two outstanding and strikingly different venues – Momentum Kunsthall and Galleri F15. Favoured Nations is the fifth edition of Momentum and has been curated by Lina Džuverović and Stina Högkvist.

 

20th Tbilisi International Film Festival

The film festival aims to promote new films, familiarize filmgoers and professionals with world cinema news and support development of Georgian film industry by holding of workshops, master classes, panel discussions and pitching sessions.

 

Siggraph 2010 - BIOLOGIC

The SIGGRAPH 2010 juried art exhibition showcases work by artists who physically engage technology in their creative process. Beyond the sense of sight, the exhibition brings together creative works that investigate, celebrate, and critique the polysensory nature of human experience in a digitally enhanced environment.

 

Art TLV 09

Art TLV, the International art biennial to be held September 10-24, 2009, will be the main art event of Tel Aviv-Yafo’s centennial celebrations, featuring leading contemporary Israeli and International artists creating exhibitions, installations, performances, screenings and talks throughout the city.

Following the success of the first edition of Art TLV in 2008, Art TLV biennial now coincides with the Athens and Istanbul biennials to foster contemporary art experimentation and exchange in the Mediterranean cultural triangle. Art TLV 09 will be attended by curators, writers, and art enthusiasts from around the world to explore the city’s bourgeoning contemporary art scene, World Heritage Architecture, and the multiple culture identities and developments in the city.

 

ART+COMMUNICATION 2009: ENERGY

Energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be transformed. (The law of conservation of energy)

The 11th edition of “Art+Communication” festival in Riga with this year’s theme: Energy, will investigate the notion of ‘sustainable development’ from various perspectives – artistic, scientific, cultural, technological, social, architectural, and environmental.

 

2nd Herzliya Biennial for Contemporary Art

Herzliya 2009: an urban, nocturnal and festive group show, to be held for one week in Herzliya’s city center, 3-10 October 2009.

 

EHMN.2010

EHMN aims to produce and distribute creative documentaries linked to the European identity, made by new media artists from different European countries using video documents coming from family sources and/or home movie archives.

 

MARCO/FRAC Lorraine Award for Young Curators

Organized by the MARCO, Museo de Arte Contemporánea de Vigo, Spain and FRAC Lorraine, Metz (Fonds regional d’art contemporain de Lorraine), France, the purpose of the MARCO/FRAC Lorraine Award for Young Curators is to offer participants the chance to execute an exhibition project to occupy MARCO’s first floor and the exhibition venues at FRAC Lorraine. Entries will focus on the field of contemporary artistic creation and contemplate the participation of two or more artists.

 

Second Roma/Gypsy Pavilion

The Arts and Culture Network Program of the OSI invites project proposals for the Second Roma/Gypsy Pavilion to be realized within the framework of the 54th International Art Exhibition – Venice Biennale 2011.

 

Square Eyes 2009

This year Square Eyes will present an evening with short films and live cinema performances in collaboration with Art Festival Made In Arnhem.

 

EvoMUSART 2010

EvoMUSART 2010 is the eight workshop of the EvoNet working group on Evolutionary Music and Art. Following the success of previous events and the growth of interest in the field, the main goal of EvoMUSART 2010 is to bring together researchers who are using biologically inspired techniques for artistic tasks, providing the opportunity to promote, present and discuss ongoing work in this area.

 

Double Vision: A Dual-Channel Video Festival

This festival is to be screened at Herron School of Art and Design in the Basile Auditorium in conjunction with the photography and video exhibition Between History and Memory. Herron is located on the campus of Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). The screening will take place on Wednesday October 28th, 2009.

 

2010 Bat-Yam Biennale

The 2010 Bat-Yam Biennale invites projects that examine the city’s “flexible” nature in relation to both infrastructures and resources, offering innovative uses for spaces that are under construction, transforming them into functional, temporal urban spaces.
