PIXXELPOINT 2009 - 10th International New Media Art Festival

Kulturni Dom Nova Gorica (Slovenia) is proud to announce the 10th edition of the International New Media Art Festival Pixxelpoint, that will open at the Mestna galerija Nova Gorica on December 4, 2009, at 8.00 PM. The festival will take place from December 4 to December 11, 2009, and will have two venues: the Mestna Galerija Nova Gorica, every day from 9.00 AM to 7.00 PM; and the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Gorizia (Via Carducci 2, Gorizia), every day from 2.00 to 7.00 PM.

ISEA 2011

ISEA International is pleased to announce that the 17th International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA2011) will be held in Istanbul, Turkey.

2010 Guandu International Outdoor Sculpture Festival

Artists from all countries are invited to submit proposals for temporary site-specific sculpture installations that raise awareness of “Nature, Art & Life.” Works must be suitable for an urban nature park with an emphasis on wetlands conservation and environmental education. Artists selected for the 2010 Festival will create their artworks during a 3-week residency in Taiwan, April 4 – April 26, 2010, with the public opening participation on weekend April 24 and 25.

LEA - mish mash

In December 2009 LEA, a member of the Leonardo/ISAST/MIT Press family – will re-launch. Its new format will combine the features of a high-production-value art magazine with the scholarly rigour of an academic journal. Lanfranco Aceti, Editor in Chief, and Paul Brown, Co-editor, intend to produce a well illustrated, attractive and readable magazine that will simultaneously be available online as a hyperlinked screen-resolution PDF document, a high-resolution print-on-demand magazine and in a downloadable version for book readers on electronic devices like the Amazon Kindle. The publications will be integrated into a regularly updated web portal that will provide additional and supporting services like announcements, opportunities, interactive content-oriented blogs and Wikis. This LEA online environment is intended to be a hierarchical content generator with the quarterly publication representing a punctuated pinnacle of this multidimensional, user-driven, discipline-oriented social network.

In order to develop a new chapter in Land Art and following the nomadic idea of theWalking Museum the Land Art Biennial in Mongolia was founded to be located in variously areas of Mongolia. In August 2010 with MONGOLIA 360° the 1st international Mongolian Land Art Biennial will be take place in the very special location of BAGA GAZRIIN CHULUU Gobi.

Spatialized Networks And Artistic Mobilization

In conjunction with the annual research, “Networks/Mobilities,” the Society for the Humanities at Cornell University will be host to an international workshop on “Spatialized Networks and Artistic Mobilizations.” Organized by Timothy Murray, Director of the Society for the Humanities, the Workshop gathers together international figures in the practice and theory of spatial networks and artistic mobility. This is the first of a series of 2009-10 public events on “Networks/Mobilities,” that will foster discussion of the flows of peoples, materials, images, and ideas across physical and virtual boundaries. The Workshop opens, Friday, October, 23, at 1:45 in the A. D. White House.

IDEODROME 2009

A psychological condition in which we can not accept a real fact or situation as such. A conscious denial is closely related with the personal or social resistance to something which we consider as wrong or immoral. Social consciousness is built upon such conscious denials.

HORS PISTES 2010

The HORS PISTES film festival offers a showcase to unique and audacious videos and films that move away from traditional genres to blend fiction with documentary, contemporary art or experimental formats. The festival, which is non competitive, will be held from February 19th to 28th, 2010, at the Centre Pompidou.

The Cartier Award 2010

Frieze Art Fair announced today the call for entries to The Cartier Award 2010. The Cartier Award is open to artists living outside of the UK, up to five years from graduating from an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or under thirty years of age. The Cartier Award is organised by Frieze Projects, sponsored by Cartier and presented in collaboration with Gasworks.

SIGGRAPH 2010 Art Papers

Eric Lloyd Wright is an architect and founder of Wright Way Organic Resource Center in Malibu, CA. During Eric’s early years in architecture, he was an apprentice to his grandfather, Frank Lloyd Wright and his father, Lloyd Wright. His portfolio includes the restoration and renovation of Frank Lloyd Wright and Lloyd Wright works as well as residences and institutional buildings of his own design.

One World 2010

The festival accepts both short and feature length documentary films, as well as short animation films with human-rights themes. Only films completed last two years can by considered for the competitive program.

Project netarts.org 2009

From 1995 to 2003, The Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts hosted the “Art on the Net” project promoting the Internet as a space for artistic expression. After the nine years of “Art on the Net,” we launched a new event called the “Project Netarts.org.” The “Project netarts.org” has been calling on artists around the world to investigate together the relationship between Art, the Internet and the Society.
