Call for documentaries
Each year, IDFA selects and screens more than 250 documentaries, running the gamut from international audience favourites to artistic experiments along the fringes of the genre.

There are no fees involved, not even if your film gets selected, but please keep our deadlines in mind: the first one coming up is 1 May.

Submit with MyIDFA
In order to submit a film, you need a MyIDFA account. This will allow you to submit films and projects to IDFA as well as to the Docs for Sale and FORUM markets.

In addition to the Joris Ivens Competition (documentaries longer than 60 minutes), the Silver Wolf Competition (30-60 minutes), the Silver Cub Competition (shorter than 30 minutes), and the First Appearance Competition (for debuting directors), the festival includes many other programmes.
