European graffiti festival

The European graffiti festival "Meeting of Styles" arrives in Greece for the first time on May 13 to 14. The event takes place in Thessaloniki thanks to the inauguration of the Live2store company and the Carpe Diem non profit association. Considered as one of the most important graffiti events, it presents famous artists while it also comprises breakdance events, extreme sports and lots of music. The meeting point is the IKEA outdoors space.

The "Meeting of Styles" lasts for six months, travelling thoughout the world and presenting the work of the "creme de la creme" of the graffiti artists. New York, Los Angeles, Paris, London, Tokyo, Sao Paolo and Madrid are some of the capitals that host the event. Regarding Thessaloniki, the festival opens on Friday, May 13, at the cafe "Serata" (Kalamaria beach) with djs Kid Stretch and Rann on the decks.

However, Saturday is the main day. Groups and solo artists from Greece and abroad participate in the event which is accompanied by dj sets and live music from the djs Kid Stretch, Rann, Squeezy Anks and the groups "Voria Asteria" (North Stars), "Vita Pis," and "Beatbox o Redone." Reated X perform on the breakdance-floor while ramps for skating and BMX are also available.

More over, Thessaloniki's "Meeting of Style" comprises contests and games and the audience can create their own graffiti.The festival is under the aegis of the Prefecture of Thessaloniki and the General Secretariat for the Youth.
