Tallinn Applied Art Triennial Society: TWO CLOSE ONES

Call for artists
At the 4th Tallinn Applied Art Triennial will be exhibited the works of applied art or design that have been specially made relying on the theme of the triennial Two Close Ones.

Each author may submit a single work or a series (maximum height 3 m and maximum surface area 8 sq m).

The photos of one&8217;s work sent either on paper or digitally, must be in format A5 (15×21) or on a CD (TIFF format, the minimum is 300 dpi for a digital image).

The photo of the source object must be of documenting character in the A5 format (15×21) or submitted on a CD (TIFF format, the minimum is 300 dpi for a digital image). Photo and CDs must bear the name of the author and the title of the work. It is not compulsory that the photo forms part of your work or an individual piece of art.

The artists are notified of the decision of the jury by 15 December 2005. The authors selected by the jury will be notified about the deadline for submitting the works.

The work/series sent to the exhibition must be identical with the works appearing on the submitted photos.

The participant will be responsible for transportation costs of works to Tallinn and will cover the transport insurance. Please remember to mention on the parcels: "FOR TEMPORARY, CULTURAL PURPOSES ONLY. NO COMMERCIAL VALUE."

The works must be transported in a safe packaging; the same packaging must be usable also for return transport.

The works will be returned to author by 15 July 2006.

In addition to the exhibition, there will be an international seminar on the theme Two Close Ones.

At the triennial, there will be given three cash prizes. One first prize 1600EUR and two equal prizes at €960. The jury reserves the right to issue special prizes. All awards will be announced at the opening of the exhibition on the 17 March 2006. The winner of First Prize will be invited to participate in a special exhibition at the 5th Tallinn Applied Art Triennial in 2009.

There will be printed a catalogue on the exhibition; each participating artist will receive one free copy.

The organizers of the exhibition reserve the right to use the photos for free in the exhibition catalogue. Photos will be returned.
