The 30th exhibition of visual art, e v a (open & invited), will bear the personal hallmark of independent curator and writer Katerina Gregos, who has agreed to curate this year’s show. After three decades in existence, the 30th exhibition promises to be a truly global event with over 100 artworks and projects involving over 70 artists from 25 countries, many of which have been specially commissioned to make new work or develop new projects for e v a 2006.
Amidst the reverberation of globalization across the world, how should art communicate the affection for the native land, search for local characteristics, and promote the people’s self-understanding so as to realize the potential of each place, make our world more colourful, and enrich our lives?

Intensity, experimentation, and visceral presence are the hallmarks of the thirteen significant one-person installations that constitute SITE Santa Fe’s Sixth International Biennial. Curator Klaus Ottmann’s exhibition, entitled Still Points of the Turning World, both concentrates and amplifies these singular works, empowering them to speak for themselves without the common filter of a prescriptive curatorial theme. As Ottmann explains, “I want this Biennial to be about the artists, not about the curator.”
European Art Symposium will take place in Saxony under the name “ Network -Art and Landscape”. Asked are up to 30 artists, which will make sculptures of Saxon stone. The sculptures will be exhibited in Frauenstein (Eastern Ore Mountains – Osterzgebirge) and Mutzschen (region of the valley of the river Mulde) during the Days of Artistic Activities from 1st to 9th of July 2006.
