M:ST 2006 call

M:ST (Mountain Standard Time) is a biennial Southern Alberta performative art festival that brings together a wide range of local, national and international artists from a diversity of performative practices and cultural identities. The festival fosters discourse crucial for the growth and progression of the performative arts and an important inter-regional and international dialogue through panel discussions, workshops and dissemination activities.

 

UNDISCIPLINED - 3rd Biennale Of Ceramics In Contemporary Art

The main goal of the 3rd edition of the Biennale of Ceramics in Contemporary Art is to foster an “undisciplined” hybridization of ceramic, design and contemporary art. The exhibition will present the results of 2 years of activities that focus on the interaction and co-existence of multiple and unique interests within a geographic area with deeply-rooted ceramic traditions (Albisola, Savona, Vado Ligure), involving artists and designers, museum curators, critics, art and design historians, ceramic laboratories and hi-tech companies, professional training centres, universities and fine arts academies in a single field of action.

 

Prix Ars Electronica 2006: The Results

3,177 entries from 71 countries-the Prix Ars Electronica attracted a record number of submissions once again this year. A total of ?117,500 in prize money is being awarded to the winners.

The Manifesta Decade

Roomade and the International Foundation Manifesta are pleased to announce the publication The Manifesta Decade: Debates on Contemporary Art Exhibitions and Biennials in Post- Wall Europe. The seventh edition of Periferic Biennial is focussing on different aspects of socio-political and cultural context of Iasi and Romania. The project is resulting in a series of exhibitions, opened in Iasi on May 12, 2006.

PRIX MARCEL DUCHAMP 2005

Claude Closky is the fifth winner of the Prix Marcel Duchamp, and like Thomas Hirschhorn, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Mathieu Mercier and Carole Benzaken before him, he has been invited to create a work to be shown at the Centre Pompidou. His Manège can be seen in Espace 315 from 17 May to 31 July 2006.

 

23rd Kassel Documentary Film & Video Festival 2006

The Kassel Documentary and Video Festival takes place annually since 1982 and is organised by the Filmladen Kassel e.V. The festival presents contemporary documentary films and videos, the media art exhibition MONITORING, a Festival Lounge for Live Visuals and the interfiction symposium.

 

Media Art Friesland Festival 2006

The Media Art Friesland Festival 2006, which takes place from September the 13th till October the 1st, is the tenth edition of the festival. This anniversary will be celebrated with a special and large programme. Recent work from all over the world will be shown in film and video screenings, presentations, exhibitions, conferences and performances.
