Journalists today are facing the challenge of reporting on the rapid transformation taking place across our region from once mainly homogeneous societies to vibrant multi-cultural and multi-religious communities. It is in this context that the Anna Lindh Mediterranean Journalist Award was launched in 2006 by the Anna Lindh Foundation to promote and recognize the positive role played by journalists in reporting on issues of cultural diversity and providing balanced and informed coverage beyond the headline of “clash” of civilizations.

The Magnum Foundation and the Inge Morath Foundation announce the tenth annual Inge Morath Award. The annual prize of $5,000 is awarded by the Magnum Foundation to a female documentary photographer under the age of 30, to support the completion of a long-term documentary project. One award winner and up to two finalists are selected by a jury composed of Magnum photographers.
The artist call will be launched at CINEMA PLANETA, Cuernavaca, Mexico, from March 11-19, 2011. It will be posted on our organizations’ websites, and disseminated through social and cultural networks. Artists from all over the world are invited to participate, in particular from areas that are most severely affected by climate change like Asia and Africa. We also hope to attract a wide diversity of artistic approaches.
