CDS Documentary Essay Prize

The CDS Documentary Essay Prize honors the best in documentary photography and writing in alternating years: one year, photos; one year, writing. The focus is on current or recently completed work (within the last two years) from a long-term project – fifteen images; fifteen to twenty pages of writing.

 

Mario Merz Prize

IMPAKT Festival 2014 - call

The Impakt Festival is the annual culmination of the activities of Impakt as an organisation that specialises in critical media culture: a multi-media festival with conferences, talks, performances, screenings exhibitions, presentations and music. Whitney Biennial 2014

The 2014 Whitney Biennial will take a bold new form as three curators from outside the Museum – Stuart Comer (Chief Curator of Media and Performance Art at MoMA), Anthony Elms (Associate Curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia), and Michelle Grabner (artist and Professor in the Painting and Drawing Department at the School of the Art Institute, Chicago) – each oversee one floor, representing a range of geographic vantages and curatorial methodologies.

The 4th Taiwan International Video Art Exhibition 2014

Since its launch in 2008, the Taiwan International Video Art Exhibition staged by Chew’s Culture Foundation has won great credit from video artists throughout the world. The first year exhibition Dwelling Place has received 121 projects by 100 artists from twenty-one countries. In 2010, the exhibition Eattopia has gathered 115 projects by 100 artists from twenty-seven countries. In 2012, the exhibition Melancholy in Progress has collected 217 projects from 169 artists.

Istanbul Design Biennial 2

The 2nd edition of the Istanbul Design Biennial, organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), will be held between 18 October-14 December 2014. The title of the biennial “The Future Is Not What It Used To Be” was announced by curator Zoë Ryan at a press meeting on Wednesday, 13 November.

Leading Moscow museums and centers of contemporary art, in collaboration with regional and foreign partners, have participated in the preparations for this event.

 

7th ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival

For the 7th time, the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival is inviting entries for the competition to find the best poetry films. To qualify for entry, films should be short films based on poems. The total value of the prizes in the competition is €13,000. From among the films submitted, a Programme Committee will nominate the films to be entered for the Competition and select the films for the various sections of the festival programme.
