Mario Merz Prize 2014

The Art Prize is addressed to artists who have been already recognized for the quality of their work in their home country and are launching their career on an international level. A short list of 5 nominees will be selected through a nomination process. The winner will be selected by an International Jury.

 

31st Bienal de São Paulo

Bienal de São Paulo Foundation will have a group of 5 curators ahead of 31st Bienal de São Paulo. Curator and writer Charles Esche should initiate preparations for the exhibition alongside Pablo Lafuente, Nuria Enguita Mayo, Galit Eilat and Oren Sagiv. The group will also be responsible for the 31st Bienal de São Paulo traveling exhibitions in 2015 as well as maintaining the current partnership between Fundação Bienal and the Ministry of Foreign Relations for Brazil’s official participation in the Biennale di Venezia.

 

Liverpool Biennial 2014

Liverpool Biennial announces the joint appointment of Mai Abu ElDahab and Anthony Huberman as curators of the 2014 Biennial, which will take place from 5 July to the end of October 2014.

COAL Prize 2014

The COAL Prize Art and Environment shows the enormous wealth of responses by artists to current environmental issues. Every year, since 2010, the COAL Prize has publicly recognized ten projects linked to environmental issues, which are selected in the framework of an international call for entries in which hundreds of artists from all over the world participate. One of these artists is given the COAL Prize, with an award of €10,000, by a Jury of well-known specialists in art and ecology. In 2013 the COAL prize on the theme of Adaptation was awarded to Laurent Tixador for his project “Architecture transitoire”.

22nd Bremen Award for Video Art

The annual Bremen Award for Video Art supports the production and presentation of two video art projects. We welcome classical, linear, audiovisual work, installations as well as ideas that challenge the boundaries of media art.

 

Animafest 2014

Submissions for Animafest 2014 short edition are open. If you have a short (up to 30 min) animated film produced after 1 January 2012 you can submit it via our online entry form. You can submit your film to one of the following categories: Grand Competition, Student Competition, Commissioned Films Competition and Films for Children Competition. Films suitable for children that are submitted for Grand or Student Competition category can also be submitted for Films for Children Competition. Submission is free of charge and the deadline is 1 February 2014.

Based on a specific theme, each edition addresses urgent socio-political questions by pushing the boundaries of artistic and feminist practices.

 

Currents 2014

CURRENTS 2014, the 5th Annual Santa Fe International New Media Festival will be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA on June 13 – June 29, 2014. CURRENTS’ curators look for the unique ways artists use technology as a tool for expression and communication, and ways that scientists, programmers and developers are integrating the arts and aesthetics into their explorations and projects.

 

Loikka Dance Film Festival 2013

Loikka is Finland’s annual dance film festival. Now in its seventh year, Loikka welcomes cinematic dance works of any genre, style, or technique, from short and feature-length films to documentaries and 3D dance films. The program is complemented by workshops, events and the famous Loikka festival club. The Loikka festival 2014 call for entries is now open.
