Overview

2009 - In Transition: Cultural Identities in the Age of Transnational and Transcultural Flux

In Transition: Cultural Identities in the Age of Transnational and Transcultural Flux examines different aspects of transformation in the era of globalisation, forced migrations and transformations of the city, covering topics on the difficult emergence of an “identity” in conditions of transnationality, transculturality, forced migration, war, as well as strategies of artistic-political engagement with this process in times of changes. In Transition addresses such processes as lost and regaining sovereignty, aftershock memories of war, as well as with the city – as place for security and as object for fear/rejection. This publication is cross-disciplinary and integrates into it science, arts, politics and digital media, looking for answers how to capture/renegotiate processes of transition and hybridity.
