Dan Cameron, Founding Director of U.S. Biennial and Artistic Director for Prospect New Orleans, announced today the list of artists and venues to be featured in Prospect.2, the second edition of the international contemporary art biennial. Opening October 22, 2011 and on view through January 29, 2012, Prospect.2 is currently planned to feature 26 local, national and international artists with diverse cultural and generational backgrounds working in a range of artistic media.

The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA) will present the third Asian Art Biennial from October 1, 2011. Under the direction of staff curator Iris Shu-Ping Huang, this exhibition proposes the theme Medi(t)ation, a concept that reflects the trend across Asia towards an M-shaped societal structure and the related threats it poses, while presenting a strongly communicative Asian cultural stance and stressing methods for mediating conflicts and tensions.

On September 23, the Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art opens its fourth edition. Titled “Rewriting Worlds,’‘ the Biennale will run until October 30. Aerowaves is a network which annually researches younger dance work in Europe, and seeks cross-border presentation opportunities for selected artists. In 2009 over 70 performances were confirmed in 22 European cities. This increased to over 80 in 2010, and we anticipate nearly 100 opportunities in 2011, listed on the Aerowaves Companies calendar as they occur. This application is for 2012, when we aim to offer as many opportunities, and possibly more.
