PULSE was launched in 2002 in partnership with the UK Film Council’s New Cinema Fund.
The ambition is to produce a new generation of film-makers who use digital technology creatively to tell stories in groundbreaking ways.
The PULSE scheme is open to new talent in the London region and offers film-makers an opportunity to make digital shorts for a variety of exhibition and distribution platforms.
At least 5 films will be commissioned this year. All genres are welcome, including drama, documentary and animation.
The budget range is £4,000 – £12,000 depending on the nature of the project. The running time should be between 1 and 15 minutes.
This year we have partnered with Film London Artist’s Moving Image Network (FLAMIN) to encourage applications from artist film-makers. See the application pack below for details.
Digital Nation replaces PULSE PLUS for writers and directors who are ready to make the leap into more ambitious cinematic short films with a maximum production budget of £18,000.
If you are intending to apply, or wish to know more about the schemes, we invite you to attend one of our information seminars. Each of these events will include: a talk from a previous PULSE awardee, screenings of selected previous commissions and a Q&A with New Talent Coordinator Jo Cadoret. Please email rob.hill@filmlondon.org.uk to register for a seat at one of these events on a first come first served basis.
