H2. TOFIFEST

International Toruń Film Festival TOFIFEST, one of the most important Polish events which presents young cinema of the world and independent films, invites you to take part in the Festival’s fifth edition’s Competitions. Festival’s Grand Prix – Golden Angel will be given in two Competitions – for the best short feature film and the best full-length feature film.

TOFIFEST is a film festival which is every year held in the pearl of Gothic (enlisted on UNESCO’S World Relics List) – the town of Toruń in the Northern Poland. In the year 2007, between 7 and 11 November the fifth edition of the Festival will take place. The screenings will be, in the same time, held in the capital of Poland – Warsaw, and in Bydgoszcz, which is near to Toruń.

During Festival, there are two Competitions:

  • International Competition for The Best Full-length Film [Grand Prix: Golden Angel].
    In this Competition the feature films of a duration longer than 60 mins., produced after 1st January 2006, can take part.
  • International Competition for The Best Short Film [Grand Prix: Golden Angel]
  • in this Competition the feature films of a duration no longer than 60 mins., produced after 1st January 2006, can take part.

All films to be submitted for the Selection must be entered by 30th September, 2007. (date on the postmark is decisive). Regulations and entry form for the Full-Lenght Features and for Shorts Features Competition are available at our website www.festivaltoffi.pl. Submit your films!

Films submitted for Competition or reviewal copies, together with printed and filled out entry form and promotional materials should be sent to TOFIFEST. The aim of the Festival isthe presentation of the young cinema and ambitious artistic films that have been produced outside the commercial system. The Festival presents the cinema that shows independent and brave substance, and takes up a non-trivial and original subjects. The Festival wants to discover young and talented artists as well from Poland, as from abroad, and also to carry on a wide promotional action of their films. The Festival is an open event and is addressed to the filmmakers from all countries of the world.

Except for the Competitions, TOFIFEST presents the retrospectives of the masters of cinema, national cinematographies reviews, the presentations of interesting phenomena from the border of film and other arts, the promotion of young talents from Poland [FOCUS TOFFI], the world’s film schools meetings [SCHOOL MARKET], discussions, panels, and artistic actions.

The new events of the fifth edition is the indroduction of World Debuts Review and the Young Documentary sections, in which there will be Special Notifications given. During the Festival there will also The Zygmunt Kałużyński’s Polish Movie Critics’ Award be given and several other notifications.
