In 2001, the Greek Graphic Designers’ Association launched a poster competition in the Greek island of Ithaca. Four years later, their initiative has become an institution, attracting interest and participations graphic designers from all over the world. Now, organisers call for entries for the 4th poster contest of Ithaca.

The theme is the Mediterranean Sea but organizers stress that the subject should not be treated literaly but rather serve as an excuse for a symbolic journey, a chance for a trip into your inner visual imagination. The submitted works should be 40×12cm.

The best three works will receive the prizes of €700, €400 and €300 respectively. Further, the best ten posters will be printed in full banner format of 200×60 and will be exhibited and remain in the beach of Ithaca throughout the summer. Organizers will play hosts to the artists of winning works during the exhibition’s opening weekend.

The competition rules in PDF format can be found here.
