HI, some time ago you wrote about Memefest 2006, International Festival of Radical Communication.
Now I’m glad to tell you that I’ve had the First Prize with my work “CTRL_ALT_DEL PROJECT”.
You can find the work at the official page of the festival www.memefest.org/2006/en/, or view the dedicated site digilander.libero.it/systemshutdown/ , where the work is fully explained.
SInce it is a collective work, and I invite everyone to act and to become a protagonist of my artistic work, I will really appreciate if you will help me to spread my message, to promote the work through its internet site.
If asked, I will give you more informations or images about the project.
Thank you for all, Paolo Casalis, Architect and Artist
Press Ctrl Alt Del (Canc in Italy) to reboot the system.
This is a political street-sticker action made up of four stickers glued to the walls of the city.
To reboot the system you don’t need ancient ideologies or violent revolutions, but you yust have to press the three keys together !!
Unfortunately, alone you can’t do it, because of the distance between them.
I invite all of you to stamp the three keys (in A3 or A4 size) and to attach them. Please keeep the original proportions and distance (as the image shows), and attach also the sheet with the instructions.
I will appreciate photos of your urban artwork.

I would like to introduce myself to you. I live in the South of England UK and am a tactile artist. I developed a new style of tactile art after a chance remark from an elderly lady who had lost her sight. I asked her where she went to see and feel art now she had lost all vision her answer to me was “ no where, because you are not allowed to touch”. It was that comment made me rethink my art and since then I have been making tactile paintings. I have built up a body of work that has enabled me to exhibit constantly throughout the past four years. I have been able to observe visually impaired and sighted people enjoy the work and have been pleasantly surprised that organisations who care for adults and children with learning difficulties have also been brought in to see the exhibitions.
Tate Modern commissioned me to make a tactile copy of Whaam by Roy Lichtenstein and this is the only painting that is part of the Touch Tours programme. I have also recently completed a commission for the Mary Rose Trust in Portsmouth UK, they asked me to make a tactile copy of a 16th century painting of the Mary Rose ship. This is now on display in the Mary Rose Museum.
I feel that I have been the gained an enormous amount by showing this work, because it has encouraged interaction which makes it all the more exciting, especially, when once the dialogue is opened, other people in the gallery join in and it becomes a place of joy and laughter.
I am now working on a new body of work and have commissions. Please enjoy looking at the website under Tactile Paintings.
