Transhift 08

Transhift is a time-based new media art festival. This juried two-day festival will occur at several venues in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. The first of its kind in Knoxville, this event will involve galleries and public spaces. The viewers’ experience will be framed by their transit from one piece to another – through downtown.

This call is open to artists working in time-based new media; which includes but is not limited to

  • video art
  • animation
  • sound art.

Submission Requirements:

Only single-channel videos/animations will be considered.

Work must have been completed in 2006 or after.

All submissions must include:

  1. Please do not send original work.
    • Format: Video / Animations should be NTSC and submitted on DVD.
    • Sound art should be submitted on CD.
  2. A description of your work
  3. A short artist bio
  4. Completed entry form
  5. If you would like your work returned, please include a SASE.

If accepted you may be asked to send your work on miniDV.

Unless you can physically be on site to install your work, installations and multi-channel videos will not be considered. Please contact Cindy Latham at TranshiftKnoxville@gmail.com if this applies to your entry.
