Meanwhile on Pluto
BWPWAP posters in the city, flyers at partner venues, a catalogue in print, events on the website, announcements in magazines – yes, you might have realised: it is only a couple of Pluto (and just a few more Earth) days until transmediale 2013 BWPWAP is finally taking place.
Program online now!
On the Transmediale website, you can now tailor your personal choice of festival events according to your interest (thematic thread, event format, festival day). Browse through all our festival events, and become as excited about all these installations, panels, performances, presentations and workshops as we are. For a more time-based selection, our good old schedule is still there, showing you all events in a useful calendar
This year, once again we have a very diverse workshop program, from building synthesizers, DIY publishing, trail blazer web surfing contests to hacking e-waste. If you would like to participate in one of the workshops, please register online.
transmediale 2013 BWPWAP Opening: Pluto Y U No Planet?
The festival starts with an unsual opening that is aiming to the stars! In an evening comprising more than just the standard opening speeches and introductions, we will learn about Pluto’s story and its impact on our cultural situation where technological and scientific discoveries may quickly change our cultural imaginaries. After astronomical insights by scientists Mike Brown, Gerhard Schwehm and Lisa R. Messeri, and an overall introduction by Kristoffer Gansing, everyone is invited to explore the exhibitions, special screenings, performances and artist presentations. The opening night is free for all visitors – you do not need any ticket to celebrate with us the blue hours of Pluto.
